Giving  Hunger the Blues 2016             youth stage bios

The Drum Studio the proud sponsor and facilitator of the youth stage at Giving Hunger the Blues since 2005.
This years youthful talent spans several counties including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota, FL.

Returning to the stage this year are The All Star Jrs, mentored by the Drum Studio All Stars and instructor Sandi Grecco. Sandi’ cadre of new drummers are ready to rock and roll with the big dogs!! For more details visit

Hailing from Tampa/St Pete is the all girl rock band 76 Cut Short. As peers in middle school they joined Girls Rock Camp St Pete this summer, and on their lunch break practiced independently and in part under the tutalage of sandi grecco. This will be there 2nd performance.

Sierra Davis, from Pinellas Co. will be singing her sweet soulful sounds to many well known songs from motown to current. Sierra just graduated high school this past May and has won numerous vocal contests, performs regionally with s.o.s. (Sounds of Soul) and The Bus Stop band. Returning to the youth stage are Alli Raina and Jaime Valez, they are a dynamic duo of vocals and guitars from Sarasota Co. Both juniors at Riverview High School that enjoy performing locally in Sarasota find them at alliandjaimemusic on Instagram and Alliraina on YouTube [email protected]

Newcomers and just added to the line up on the youth stage is Music Heals Us. A dynamic duo of vocals, ukelele and guitars. Erin Evers, vocals and ukelele is the daughter of drummer Paul Evers who is perfoming on main stage with Funktastic Soul. Along beside her  is musical partner Andrew Lakey, they make up this amazing vehicle of a band that raises money for children with cancer, Lakey (16) is a survivor of childhood brain cancer and is spreading his message with Erin through the healing power of music. The Savannah Brady Band returning for another amazing concert on the youth stage. Just graduated from high school, Savannah is a triple threat (who also plays is in Kim Betts band Gamble Creek) who can shred on the guitar and violin while singing beautiful melodies all while fronting her powerhouse band, Featuring Jonathan Shrader on drums, Taylor Panico on bass, Zack on guitar. 2015’s youth stage headliner Jake Castro Band is back to wow us with his blues guitar slinging abilty and vocals. At 15, Jake is leading his band of seasoned professionals touring on the road. Jake has recently accepted guitar duties the band Hotel California.

The Drum Studio All Stars made their debut on the youth stage 11 years ago in 2005. Every year since then Sandi Grecco has directed, mentored and privately instructed some of the finest talent in Sarasota Co. Reuniting to play some new orleans music in a funk, rock and soul context. Headlining the 2016 Giving Hunger the Blues Youth Stage is Avenging Benji. Led by drummer and Sarasota native Kei Bland.
Kei, 16 and a monster on the drum kit, made his debut on the GHTB Youth Stage back in 2006 at the tender age of 6 years old with the DSAS. Sunday, he will bring his band of seasoned professionals and members of the band crimson glory to rock our faces off. For more info visit

Thanks to all of the 40 plus performers donating their time and talents to help the hungry children in sarasota county. 

GHTB event is one of a kind and the largest charitable function in sarasota co. Raising over  1 million dollars since its inception. I am so proud to be a part of something so great that helps so many people through the power of people and music. see ya sunday!!
